Photo Restoration: Old to New
Faded, torn family photographs brought back to life in colour, ready to frame.
The brief
Families shared old photographs of their parents: small, damaged black-and-white prints with stains, tears and missing patches. They wanted them restored and printed for the home.
Approach
Each portrait was repaired by hand: tears, spots and stains removed, missing areas rebuilt, faces sharpened with care to keep the likeness. Two separate portraits were combined into one couple's photograph and colourised with natural skin tones, clothing and a studio backdrop, then prepared for printing at frame size.
• Outcome
Damaged portraits turned into framed family photographs the families can display again.
